Chris Hooper’s story is a real love affair with business. Recognising accounting as “the language of business”, he started his own firm six years ago. Then two years ago, Accodex was born, which is now an international company with multiple locations in four different countries. Headquartered in Adelaide, it’s a real SA success story.
Describing himself as an entrepreneur first, and an accountant second. Chris is a regular go-to for advice on start-up business – in fact I first met him in 2015 as he mentored participants, including myself, in the MEGA entrepreneur program.
In today’s episode of business podcast Be The Drop, Chris talks about the emotional roller-coaster of running a business, the value of doing any business rather than waiting for a “big idea” and reveals his top tips for using social media for B2B…
“I use narrative to make what I do less intimidating for my customers.”
Listen to this episode to hear Chris chat about how to use storytelling to make even the most complex information palatable:
In this episode you will learn:
- The importance of understanding and predicting the market
- A successful Twitter ratio of broadcast content to interaction
- The ‘stop-start’ growth of a startup company
- How to connect with influential industry peers
“I look at money as a way of keeping score in a video game. You want to get a top score.”
Cheers for tuning in and listening to Be The Drop; I can’t wait for the next instalment to bring you more of the best marketing strategies for small business, and tips to make you a better brand storyteller.
