Who doesn’t love a good flavour combination? But what does it take to turn that love, into a community of fans who will buy your tasty treats? What ingredients are required to then motivate those fans to not only buy but share the experience of eating your goods? James Sideris, the creative genius behind Nutorious, is developing the recipe to do just that!  In episode 8 of Be The Drop Podcast, I sat down with James and we discussed why being generous with his community combined with his decadent flavor combinations are so important.

Delight your customers

Our interview got off to a cracking start as James brought a dark chocolate, coconut, macadamia muffin with raspberry and toasted meringue with a Bounty injection. Pure heaven! James is constantly evolving his menu in order to foster excitement and to continually delight his customers. By constantly pushing the flavour boundaries and trying new things, James ensures that there is always something new and exciting for his community to experience.

“If I could get up every morning and have people excited by what I’m doing, I’d be happy with that”

Share the experience

Creating an experience for your customers helps build both interest and engagement. In order to motivate his community to buy his goods and for them to then encourage others to buy his goods, James creates innovative tastes that deliver a culinary experience for his customers. Nutorious products not only taste good but that they smell delicious and look good too. They’re the sorts of things you want to talk about.

James has further built his community by expanding on this “experience for the senses” through encouraging people to share it on social media. Food is a very visual business, so Instagram is the key platform that James uses – his delicious images are very well suited to this visual platform. Using this natural fit, James continually encourages his community to participate and share their experience.

Be open and positive

James’ top communication tip is to be positive. Building people up is the best way to encourage growth for yourself and others. He believes in openness and encouraging others as positivity will create a passionate community.

“If you are passionate about what you are doing, you’re not working a day in your life, really”
